Western Region

The western Region has wonderful places like surkhet, Jumla, Rara Lake and

 Dolpa. 

Rara lake-Rara lake is 28 kilometers north of jumla and can be reached in four days. The large lake at an altitude of 2,980 m is situated on a high land on the Northern flank of the Ghurichi Lekh (4,067 m) The oval shaped lake has a water surface of approximately eight square kilometers

with hills of pine and rhododendron around it. The calm environments are enhanced by the reflection of Ghrichi Lekh in its blue water. Ghaukheli Peak 94,201 m) stands across the deep Mugu Karnali gorge.

The landscape of Jumla Balley is one of the most beautiful and remote regions of Nepal. From Jumla, first the trail passes through Padmara Village and then to the East of Dori Lekh following the Khali Langba (pass) the Khuri Gaun, Pima at the western point of the lake rara is also reached from Dhorpatan in the North- west of the Pokhara Valley but this is a difficult 15 days trek through 15 thousand feet altitude Via Jangla Bhanjyang to Tar. About 6 miles from Tar, the thuli Behry river is set aside and it follows the right bank of suli river which joins into the Bheri river from the North via Dunhi and to Rara Lake.

Dolpa Region-This trek takes 23 days. It is full of Tibet alike landscape, aremote land with full of devoted Buddhists. This valley is considered to be created by Guru Padmasambhava as a refuge for ardent Buddhists long year ago. The Dolpa area is preserved by the Shey Phoksundo National Park,this areas has an unspoiled natural environment,and typical culture of its own. The national park is the home of blue sheep the rarest animal in the world. Lake Phoksundo is marvelous for its ever changing colours. The maximum altitude of this trek is 5,115m.
